Cluster Leaders
Cluster Co-Leader
Dr Ricardo Codinhoto
Senior Lecturer of Digital Construction and Heritage
Ricardo's research is positioned at the intersection of design management, digitalisation, and decision-making in the built environment. His work focuses on how complex design and operational environments can be structured to support more informed, evidence-based, and accountable decisions across the lifecycle of built assets.
Cluster Co-Leader
Dr Alejandro JimΓ©nez Rios
Lecturer in Structural Engineering
My research focuses on preserving and maintaining historic buildings and bridges. I study traditional and eco-friendly architecture and investigate how materials like masonry, bamboo, and earth behave under different conditions. I also work with new technologies, such as artificial intelligence and digital twins, to improve the way we monitor and manage structures.
Core Members

Professor in Architecture & Heritage
Marion's work centres on the history and theory of architectural
conservation, heritage policy, and the management of historic
landscapes and designed environments.
Dr Kemi Adeyeye
Senior Lecturer of Sustainable Architecture
Kemi's research addresses sustainable and regenerative design,
water efficiency, building performance, and climate resilience in
the built environment, with applications to both new build and
historic contexts.
Dr Jonathan Foyle
Lecturer in Architectural History
Jonathan specialises in medieval architecture, the history of
building techniques, and the documentary and physical analysis
of historic structures across Britain and Europe.
Dr Robert Proctor
Senior Lecturer in Architectural History & Theory
Robert specialises in twentieth-century architecture and urbanism with an emphasis on the social, political and religious purposes of buildings, and an interest in urban conservation.
Dr Alexander Copping
Senior Lecturer in Architecture & Digital Design
Alex works at the intersection of digital design, fabrication,
and conservation, with research interests in computational
methods for the documentation, analysis, and adaptive reuse of
historic buildings.
Dr Daniel Talesnik
Lecturer in Architecture & Urban Heritage
Daniel's research spans modern architectural history, urban
heritage, and the conservation of 20th-century buildings and
sites, with particular interest in Latin American contexts and
transnational conservation practices.
Doctoral Researchers & Postdocs
